Do Logos Attract Customers?

Hello, my name is Deanna Murray and I am a marketing and branding specialist who helps businesses realize their true potential by making their brands come to life. Often, I’ve been asked ‘Do Logos Attract Customers?’

When you think of some of the most successful companies in the world today, you don’t just think about their products – you think of their brand and their brand identity and a huge part of a brand identity is the imagery associated with it – their logo.

We know Nike by their Swoosh. We know Apple by their Apple and we can identify hundreds of online entities by simply seeing their iconography.
But that doesn’t really answer the question, does it? These brand logo associations are after-consumer acknowledgements. The question is, can a logo actually attract customers?

As with anything you put out into the market, a logo most certainly has the ability to attract customers. Likewise, it also has the ability to turn off potential customers.

That’s why companies, every single year, spend millions of dollars to test perception of their brand in the marketplace. It’s also why design firms charge major money to create logos for companies and their products.

Essentially, a logo is a graphical representation of your brand. It should encompass what your brand means through imagery, color, font and background in such a way that it entices a new client or customer to seek out your services or make a product purchase.

That’s why blood, sweat and tears are poured over a logo. A logo design miss can set a company back millions of dollars. It can also cause a new business with spectacular products to never get off the ground due to lack of consumer appeal.

But a logo that hits a homerun with consumers causes a purchase – which can turn into a repeat customer and a brand ambassador.
So yes. Logos attract customers. So don’t take designing one lightly! Get input. Understand your brand and design to win big.

I sure hope this information helps – leave a comment or a question – I’d love to hear from you! And if you get a chance, check out my weekly blog on
